Alexandra Peterken b.1996 is an artist and environmental enthusiast originally from the North-East of the UK but now resides in East London. Alex graduated from Northumbria University in 2018 with a degree in Fashion Design & Marketing, but in December 2021 decided to leave the fashion world to pursue her art full-time.

Blending bold colours with abstract shapes, Alex draws inspiration from moments that spark personal joy – romanticizing experiences taken from every-day life, travel, and natural forms.
Linking with her support for the environment, she incorporates hard-to-recycle materials into her artworks, bringing contrasting textures and highlighting the topic of waste.

“I aim to achieve the perspective that ‘rubbish’ can be turned into something beautiful. Appreciating what we have, appreciating the small ‘be there’ moments and expressing my inner thoughts.

The artworks reflect my own, androgynous style and thought process – feminine with masculine, old with new, delicate with bold. Piecing elements together to create a story and an underlying nod to topics that I am passionate about.”

Alex takes each step of production from an environmentally conscious point of view; including her packaging and planting of at least one tree for every artwork sold through the Non-Profit organisation One Tree Planted.

She continues to work on new art collections, private commissions, partnerships and exhibitions whilst expanding her portfolio. Please enjoy browsing Alex's selection of available artworks and contact her directly for commission or event inquiries.
